Marc LaMacchia

Born and raised in Palm Harbor, Marc Lamacchia always knew what he wanted to do, play baseball and teach baseball. Now with a family of his own, Marc has become an icon to East Lake baseball and softball. Many people know him through his role as an East Lake Baseball Coach or through the many families who have partnered with Marc to help their rising baseball/softball star reach their athletic potential. One thing everyone agrees on is that Marc is able to help players who are willing to work hard to develop their talent and skills.

Marc has an extremely impressive list of baseball accomplishments. Early on as a senior at East Lake High School, Marc was a 6A All-State selection and led East Lake High School to their first 6A Regional final in school history.

Marc was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals but elected instead to attend Florida State University and earn a degree. While there he had a winning season, an ACC Championship victory against Clemson, and played in the Cape Cod Baseball League where he performed admirably for the Cotuit Kettleers.

After being recruited by the Texas Rangers, Marc was also asked to play in the inaugural World Baseball Classic for team Italy in Orlando, Florida. Marc was eventually traded to the Florida Marlins where he played for the A, Advanced A and AA minor league affiliates.

Marc ended his professional career playing overseas in Italy's Professional Baseball League. That season Marc went 7-2 and won 7 straight starts helping his club reach the IBL postseason.

One of the most rewarding things his company, Lamacchia Baseball Instruction (LBI) does is host baseball & softball camps for young players ages 6-16. These camps are a great experience for players at any level. Marc combines a great balance of fun and learning while making a lasting and positive impression of baseball/softball on his campers.
